Browsing House Staff Salaries does not require an account and does not place any cookies. No personal information is collected simply by viewing the site.
If you submit a message through the Suggestion Box, we collect the message text, your email address (if provided), your IP address, and the time of submission. This information is used solely to read and respond to your suggestion and is not shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Staff listed on this site can request removal from any listing page. To verify the request, we ask for your House email address and send a confirmation link to it. Your listing is removed only if you click that link.
Your email address is used only to send you two messages about this request: the confirmation link, and a short notice once the removal has been recorded. It is not stored. The address travels inside the signed confirmation link itself, which is how it is still available to send that second message, and once the link is used or expires it is gone. We do not keep a list of who has requested removal: what we store is an irreversible cryptographic digest of your name and office, which cannot be turned back into either without a secret key that is never published.
To prevent the form being used to send unwanted mail, we briefly keep a digest of the recipient address and of the requesting IP address so that repeated requests can be refused. These expire automatically within a day and cannot be reversed to identify anyone.
If your address cannot be matched automatically, or you no longer have a House address, you can request removal by hand through the Suggestion Box, which is covered above.
Removal takes effect on this site only. House staff salaries are published by law in the Statement of Disbursements, and that record remains public on house.gov regardless. Aggregate statistics on this site — medians, percentiles and distributions — are calculated before removals are applied, so they are unaffected and no individual can be inferred from a change in them.
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool. It collects anonymized data about page visits (page URL, referrer, browser type, country) without cookies or cross-site tracking. No personally identifiable information is stored.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of normal network operations, Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
All salary data displayed on this site is sourced from the Statement of Disbursements of the House, a public record published by the U.S. House of Representatives. No data is transmitted to the House or any government agency based on your visit.
